Bunk Bar + Bunk Sandwiches

Since 2010, I've created three murals for my friends who founded Bunk Sandwiches and Bunk Bar: chefs Tommy Habetz and Nick Wood; and music and bar gurus Matt Brown and Giorgio Angelini. We all share a love of good music and good films, which culminated in the giant paintings you see  below.

Inspired by Wim Wenders' 1982 masterpiece Paris Texas, this mural depicts Harry Dean Stanton walking alone through the desert.

Based on the final scene from one of my favorite films, Kiss Me Deadly (1955), this art also appeared as the centerfold of the vinyl reissue of Steel Pole Bath Tub's 1991 LP Tulip. This piece received recognition from the Society of Illustrators in their 2015 advertising art exhibition and annual. This mural is located on the suite level of the Moda Center, home of the NBA's Portland Trailblazers.

Inspired by a key scene in The French Connection (1971). No other film defines 1970s New York in my mind like this one.
